I’m Vincent Macharia, a technology entrepreneur, software developer, and founder of Graph Technologies. I started developing software in 2013, driven by a simple curiosity: understanding how technology could be used to turn ideas into things people could actually use.
Today, my focus is expanding from software development into artificial intelligence, intelligent products, and technology that can create meaningful economic impact across Africa.

My vision is to contribute to an Africa where technology is not simply consumed — it is created, owned, and used to solve the continent’s biggest challenges.
I envision a future where an African entrepreneur with an idea can access the technology, intelligence, infrastructure, and tools needed to turn that idea into a scalable business.
Where businesses of every size can use AI and software to compete globally.
Where African developers build products for African problems — and those products go on to serve the world.
And where technology becomes a fundamental engine for economic opportunity, productivity, innovation, and human potential.

From developer to technology entrepreneur.
The Beginning
I started developing software in 2013. At the time, my focus was simply learning how technology worked and figuring out how to turn ideas into functioning software.
But development quickly became more than technical work. I became fascinated by the entire process:
Idea → Product → Users → Business → Impact
That perspective eventually shaped the way I approach technology today.
Building Products
Over the years, I have been involved in developing mobile applications, websites, business platforms, marketplaces, APIs, and other digital products.
Each project taught me something different about technology, users, business, and the realities of building products in Africa. The lessons went beyond programming.
Good software is not necessarily good business.
The most technically sophisticated solution isn't always the right one — the real challenge is building something people need and creating a sustainable system around it.
Pivot East
My entrepreneurial journey was recognized through Pivot East, where ventures I was involved with emerged as winners in 2014 and 2018.
Those experiences strengthened my belief that African technology companies can build ambitious products capable of competing on a global stage.
Graph Technologies
I founded Graph Technologies to create a technology company capable of helping businesses move from ideas to working digital products.
Graph has grown around software development, mobile applications, web platforms, and digital transformation.
Today, the company is evolving further into AI strategy and AI-powered solutions, reflecting the next major shift in technology.

Technology is becoming increasingly powerful. But access to technology alone isn’t enough.
My mission is to help make sophisticated technology practical, accessible, and commercially useful, particularly for businesses operating in Africa. That means building solutions that consider the realities of our markets:

I don’t want AI to remain something that only large corporations can afford to experiment with.
I want African businesses to be able to use it to compete, grow, and create.
Africa should not only be a market for technology.
Africa has millions of problems waiting to be solved — and millions of people capable of solving them. The opportunity is enormous.
We should not limit ourselves to importing technology created elsewhere. We should be building our own products, platforms, companies, infrastructure, and intellectual property.
Technology created in Africa can solve African problems. And African solutions can become global solutions.
The next decade.
The first chapter of my journey was largely about learning to build software. The next chapter is about building intelligent systems, products, and companies. My interests increasingly sit at the intersection of:

This philosophy has guided my work since I started developing in 2013. It remains at the heart of what I do today.
I have always been more interested in building than talking about building. Ideas are important. But ideas become valuable when they are transformed into something real.

- A solution that makes someone's life or business better.
That is the mindset I bring to technology.
More than a decade after writing my first software, I’m still asking the same fundamental question: what can we build that matters?
The tools have changed. The technology has changed. The possibilities have changed. But the purpose hasn’t — to think deeply, to solve meaningful problems, to create things that didn’t exist before.
And ultimately, to contribute to a future where African technology is not just part of the global digital economy — but one of the forces shaping it.
